Eats 2 Seats is a comprehensive platform designed to streamline staffing operations for concession stands during large-scale events, such as sporting events and concerts. The solution consists of three interconnected platforms: one for administrators to oversee and manage the entire operation, another for staff leaders to coordinate and deploy their teams, and a dedicated platform for employees to access their schedules and tasks. The aim was to simplify and automate staffing tasks, enhancing efficiency and the overall experience for both employees and event attendees.
The main challenge was to develop a set of platforms that could efficiently handle large-scale staffing requirements in dynamic and high-pressure environments. Event coordinators and concession managers struggled with manual processes that were time-consuming and error-prone, leading to inefficiencies in managing staff during peak times. Additionally, there was a need for clear communication channels between administrators, staff leaders, and employees to ensure seamless operations.
We began by conducting in-depth research to understand the various roles and workflows involved in staffing concession stands. Interviews with administrators, team leaders, and employees helped identify critical pain points and needs for each user group. Based on these insights, we designed three distinct platforms with tailored interfaces: an admin platform for overseeing operations, a leader platform for coordinating teams, and an employee app for accessing schedules and tasks. Prototyping and iterative testing allowed us to refine each platform to meet the specific needs of its users while ensuring smooth integration across all three.
The final Eats 2 Seats design features a seamless trio of platforms that work together to optimize staffing operations. The administrator platform offers comprehensive oversight, enabling efficient management of all concession stands. The leader platform allows team leaders to assign and adjust tasks in real-time, ensuring smooth operations even during peak periods. For employees, the dedicated app provides a clear view of schedules and responsibilities, reducing confusion and boosting productivity. By delivering a cohesive and responsive solution, Eats 2 Seats enhances the efficiency of staffing operations, minimizes errors, and improves the overall event experience for both staff and attendees.
